Couch grass is used extensively for lawns, sporting fields and reclamation with it's excellent drought tolerance making it the grass of choice for millions of homes.

Couch grass (Cynodon dactylon) Native to Africa, couch grass is very common throughout a wide range of climatic zones around the world. It can be found in many different parts of Australia, especially in coastal areas.

Couch Grass Lawn Care Tips Once established encourage good root growth for stronger, healthier plants by giving lawns a thorough soaking every 3-4 days, rather than regular light waterings, couch grass will generally germinate faster but is more expensive. Sowing rate 1 kg/100 m2 Uses Lawns, fairways, tees, ovals and wickets. Advantages » Drought and heat tolerant » Low mowing » Salt tolerant Disadvantages Winter dormant and invasive growth. Maintenance requirements Requires frequent mowing, fertilising and dethatching during active growth stage. May need oversowing in autumn or winter. Prefers a pH of 6–7. Mowing height 10 mm to 25 mm 

It is very drought tolerant but still can stand flooding for short periods.

Sowing time - Spring/Summer with warm soil temperature over 18 degrees

Seed is used for pasture, hay production, erosion control, lawns, roadsides, and many other uses.
