Gibsons 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle - Gateway to Snowdonia
Early morning on a bright day in the summer of 1957, against a backdrop on Conwy Castle and the estuary of the River Conwy, ‘Britannia’ class 4-6-2 No. 70045, soon to be named ‘Lord Rowallan’, coasts into Llandudno Junction station with an express from Holyhead to London. On an adjacent track, Ivatt class ‘2’ 2-6-0 No. 46447 departs for Llandudno Town to collect the daily pick-up freight. The ‘Britannia’ class ‘Pacifics’ were introduced by British Railways in January 1951. Altogether fifty-five were built, the last appearing in 1954. They had a comparatively short working life, the first being withdrawn in favour of diesel in June 1965. Two examples are preserved, Nos. 70000 ‘Britannia’ and 70013 ‘Oliver Cromwell’.
As with all Gibsons jigsaws, they use 100% recycled puzzle board, FSC paper and work with the best artists from all around the world. The beautifully illustrated pieces are designed to fit perfectly together; in fact, we use the thickest puzzle board on the market. Everyone loves a Gibsons jigsaw, even Her Majesty the Queen has been spotted with one.
Same great puzzles, kinder to the environment. This jigsaw puzzle is planet-friendly. Not only does the box have a fresh new look, but Gibsons have used biodegradable clear labels to secure the lid instead of shrink wrap to reduce plastic waste. There is a gloss varnish on the box for extra protection and the pieces are stored in a bag that can be recycled by some councils.
Because the box is slightly smaller than Gibsons previous designs, they need less room to transport their products which reduces carbon footprint and means you can store your puzzles more easily. Gibsons have also popped an artwork poster inside for you to reference whilst you piece together your lovely jigsaw puzzle.
