The Edelrid Pinch Semi-Automatic Belay Device is a game-changer for climbers seeking an efficient and safe belaying experience. With its innovative features and user-friendly design, you can climb with confidence knowing you have a reliable belay device on your harness.

Key Features:

  • Direct Harness Attachment: The Pinch attaches directly to your harness, eliminating the need for a belay carabiner and reducing the risk of cross-loading. This design allows for improved brake rope control, enabling you to grip the brake rope with all fingers for enhanced safety.
  • Increased Rope Pay-Out: The compact belay system allows belayers to pay out an additional 20-30 cm of rope at once, making it easier to manage slack during climbs.
  • Linear Rope Run: The frontal steel braking grooves ensure a smooth, linear rope run, reducing tangles when lowering or abseiling. This feature also increases durability and prevents unsightly discoloration from rope abrasion against aluminum.
  • Enhanced Control: The lowering lever allows for precise speed control, especially beneficial when using thin or soft ropes. The anti-panic function adds an extra layer of safety by automatically locking the device if the lever is pulled too far back.
  • Second Braking Tier: If the anti-panic function is triggered too frequently due to insufficient load or excessive rope friction, the integrated second braking tier enables controlled lowering by pulling the lever further.
  • Versatile Attachment Options: The Pinch can be attached to the belay station in four different directions at 90° increments, allowing you to position the lowering lever for optimal operation.
  • User-Friendly Design: Suitable for both right and left-handed users, this device accommodates static ropes from 10.0 to 10.5 mm in diameter and dynamic ropes from 8.5 to 10.5 mm, supporting a maximum user weight of 120 kg.
