Active Content & Action

Imidacloprid 35 g/L. Imidacloprid is part of the neonicotinoid class of chemicals. Neonicotinoids disrupts nerve transmission in target parasite.

Use:

A ready to use pour on to control neonicotinoid susceptible body lice (Bovicola ovis) on sheep.

Indications:

Can be applied to shorn sheep up to 7 days off shears and on unshorn lambs up to 2 months of age.

Period of Protection:

The product can be expected to protect sheep against re-infestation with lice for 4 weeks after treatment when applied within 24 hours of shearing.

Dosage and Administration

Apply the entire dose to sheep under 30 kg as a single broadband stripe from poll to tail butt. For sheep over 30 kg, apply half the dose as a broadband stripe either side of the midline from the mid neck to the butt of the tail. The stripes should be no further than 10cm apart. Refer to the diagrams (download tech sheet to view diagrams). A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment. Dose the mob to the heaviest animal by liveweight in each group (ewes, wethers, rams, lambs). 

Do not underdose. Where there is a large variation in size within the group (e.g. lambs), dose rate should be based on the label directions for each weight range. Drafting into two or more lines may be appropriate, to avoid excessive overdosing.

Add 10mL for each 10kg above 100kg.

Doses 333 doses per 20L pack (average weight 50kg).
